The most popular Russian saint in Georgia is Saint Seraphim of Sarov. He is dedicated to the church in Borjomi and in Dedoplistskaro. Святая Нина (Нино), по преданию, отправилась в Иверию (территория современной Грузии), чтобы найти Хитон Господень. Её воспитательница Нианфора рассказала ей о том, как Хитон Господень был перенесён из Иерусалима во Мцхету (древняя столица Грузии). Но главной целью, которую возложила на святую сама Богородица, было просвещение Иверии, так как Иверия (Грузия) — первый удел Божией Матери. Мы поставили себе целью, в трудное для христианства время, когда оно находится под натиском иноверцев, создать еще один временный приют для православных – часовенку-молельну, поставить ее там где она необходима для душ верующих. Где каждый проходящий мог бы преклонить колени перед святыми почитаемыми нашими народами, поставить свечу, помолиться и вспомнить о неделимости судеб православной России и православной Грузии.
